Individual sessions for stress and anxiety

Mindfulness and psychological challenges

Over the last twenty years, hundreds of studies have been carried out into the benefits of meditation for reducing stress and anxiety, PTSD, depression and addictions.

When stress, anxiety or PTSD is very intense, the focus is primarily on grounding ourselves in the body, connecting with the heart and with our most expansive emotions, and cultivating a gentle and loving attitude towards ourselves.

If the symptoms are not so intense, we can apply mindfulness directly to the difficulty itself. Mindfulness can be translated as ‘full attention’. Mindfulness is difficult to describe because it is an experience that must be lived. We achieve mindfulness if we pause for a moment from our usual way of being, stop for an instant, take a deep breath, and observe how we are without reacting. If we practise this when we are calm – not when we are highly agitated – we can gradually relax our state of being, and that relaxation has a positive effect on most psychological disorders.

You can find more information on how to manage anxiety through mindfulness meditation here.

If you are experiencing any other psychological disorder or tendency that you would like to work on, please get in touch with us and we will advise you.
