Individual mindfulness meditation sessions
The individual mindfulness meditation sessions are a way to help practitioners deepen their meditation practice. Through guided meditation, the practitioners are invited to notice and name what they are experiencing in each moment, developing their ability to be with the diverse experiences that arise without reacting to them, with care and gentleness.
This meditation expands our window of tolerance for different experiences, allowing us to be simply present without running away or clinging to what is happening. It helps the student to stay with the bodily sensations, resisting the ingrained tendency to get lost in thoughts. To counteract the tendency to drift into thought we anchor our attention in bodily sensations or the breath. This helps us release tension, worries, or any other difficult emotion, by staying with these experiences and letting them unfold. In this meditation, we do precisely that: connect with the body and develop our capacity to be with the emotions and beliefs it carries, which influence our behaviour and thought patterns.
